Something like this? See: http://www.mh-aerotools.de/airfoils/cox_frameset.htm
where they list several modles of dune buggies and similar critters. Interestingly, there is a listing for an "RC Dune Buggy" with no photo or other info.

C*x did eventually do an RC version of both the "Beetle" and "Buggy", and even one of the Shrike "proprod"

Somewhere around 15 years ago, I had a cox powered r/c buggy I ordered from Tower. It had a body that more closely resembled the space shuttle than any dune buggy I've ever seen, as well a transmission that broke in less than an hour's running. It was fun while it lasted, though.

Well, I got it to run backwards. had to use my starter motor on it, ran it through a tank and tried again, this time it ran forwards until I set it in the grass, then it died ,

yeah dust, I had a beetle too, I was pretty rough on my toys as a kid but when I went to school my parents had a yard sale and sold my beetle, dune buggy, daisy bb gun, and my steam engine, man I was pissed, course that was 25 years ago too......Rog
