Default Vee Leading Edge

Has anyone ever made a wing leading edge like this? I noticed the E-Flite Brio 10 ARF uses this type of construction, and it seems plenty strong. Laser cut ribs probably makes the job easier, but you still need to shape the joint between the two sheets at the front.

Built some free flights like that and it is really hard for
me to build it straight without a jig,but it makes a nice
LE for a thin airfoil

This method is certainly strong but there is no need for the odd, other than 90 degree angle designed in there. every thing moved round a little would make life simpler.

A jig would also help as with any built up wing without leveling tabs.

I've done a couple that way and I'll do more. It's a great way to help ensure that the critical first few % of the leading edge is accurate and light at the same time on a wing with otherwise open construction. It goes really well with multiple turbulator spars so that the covering is better supported. For my part I didn't find that it was that hard to get a nice straight joint. A shaping template is a nice tool as well. It's probably overkill on most 1/2A sized models but one of the wings I used this trick on is an RC hand launched glider. For that case the wing section is more critical since there's no engine to haul it around.
