Reply to CP.... I have heard of this phenomenea before.. When the protective, non photo-genic coating is etched it exposes the raw material of the product. I understan that there is at Area 51 something very similar that is being analized as we wonder.

That looks like the G-Mark logo (I think...)
There is an image of the g-mark 061 engine on this site http://www.mh-aerotools.de/airfoils/...allengines.htm

Benjy,
As stated above - looks like the G-Mark logo.
G-Mark engines were made in Japan, but are no longer produced.
The .061 came in two versions, the first type was rather clumsy, the later and more common version was very neat and slim, with a triangular crankcase.
Both versions were available with either a plain venture or a well functioning RC throttle.
They are good quality sport engines, which handle nicely and throttle well, but they are not as powerful as Cox TD´s or the modern Russian engines.
Hence there are members of this very forum, with distorted porcupine minds, who would describe the G Mark .061 as “wimpyâ€â€¦.
I have both the early and the later versions, have used both for many years and they still run well. I like them very much.
G-Mark .061´s in excellent condition used to go for around 40-50 USD on the bay a year ago or so, probably about the same now.

BENJYTHEULTIMATE, I hope I didn't get you angry. It was all in fun. Chalk it up to two things: One, I can be obnoxious and, two, it was late on a Saturday night.
Speaking of G-marks... has anyone here ever built a Griffin? It was a full-house, low wing designed around the G-Mark. Cannon R/C gave you a free set of plans for it when you bought the engine from them. There were two sizes, one for the .03 and one for the .061.

Thanks, yeh i meant that was the mark. Here is a few picks of the engine. Also, i was wondering whether i could get a kit or plans for an easy to fly beginner plane that this engine would fit into. Thanks, BENJYTHEULTIMATE
