RE: CC Design Raison D'ĂȘtre Poll
Yep I agree with Hogflyer , how about a simple sports bipe ? rudder/elevator control thats slowish on a surestart but more lively on a norvel etc ?

Suggestion...
Simple Sport Bipe.
Made from .....Foam, card board, Coroplast, Balsa - ply, Vacu-form, whatever.
Ace Foam wing panels or roughly the same cord / span if Built up.
061 engine size limit. Reed Or Speed.
2 channel for control + 1 for throttle if your choose so.

RE: CC Design Raison D'ĂȘtre Poll
I like speed- It is a race - why not build an easy to fly racer- no rudder for me in a racer.
That being said- You can meet all the first four and still have a fun racer that can use both the reedie and a Norvel .061. As CP said sometimes in races you come back w/ rekits, so make it an easy design that won't take forever for someone to build another if theirs goes in. The closed in nose looks better and goes faster, but the open nose makes it easy to switch engines. With a internal tank you can mount the TD on a beam ( if we vote that way ) or Reedie directly to the front ( even the reedie can use the internal tank if wanted ), or Norvel on a mount or beam. Four screws - unhook the throttle pushrod if desired and switch out the engine.
OR! Build two as it is a race and they rekit quick sometimes.
My 2 cents, but hey it's all fun ( except trying to start a reedie under pressure! Had to get that in there )
