RE: Sorta Hot
VERY pretty model Ralph! There's just something timeless about Mr Santich's design. And yours looks like one of the best.
My alltime favorite model was a Super Hots that I lost when I bought a new transmitter and I confused the snap roll switch with low rates!
I built another one with a TD .020 in it from Hollis' plans. I forget how I killed it.
Last year's Winter project was supposed to be and Ultra Hots. I cut out the ribs and I don't even know where they are now. I need help.
Let us know how she flies (like how could it not be great)?

I have built seven 40 sized hots and they seem to have the
trait of instilling too much confidence in average fliers
Santich said at one point that the Ultra was the best of all
the variations. Such a simple and honest airplane .

CP , I have a couple of them and they are fairly stout.
Unlike most diesels they don't mind a small prop. I have
run 7X6 3 blade , but mostly 8X5 or 9X4 two blade. They
take a lot of breaking in,my oldest one spins 8X5 Zinger
14900 and 8X4 MAS 15600 running a pretty loose compression.

Dave, this is getting erie. I'm begining to think we may be kindred spirits. Woooooo! And Halloween is approaching too. Woooooo.
Don't let this get around but I have a Super Hots kit hidden in my attic. This may show what a dirty mind I have but I have had a vision of an electrified Super Hots. It came to me in a dream after I had spent four days without food or water in a Piute sweat lodge. No wait, the dream was about my spending four days . . . no wait, I stept for four days lodged in a Holiday Inn lodge. Come to think of it, it wasn't an electric model airplane of any kind - but it definitely was a dream when I was asleep. Like I should be now.

RE: Sorta Hot
Just in case anyone might be wondering, In MY dream Vic would have his clothes ON - and that's stretching a point WAY far because the only way he could get into a dream of mine is with a crowbar, fourteen feet of anchor chain, and a quart of 50% nitro fuel.
Now that we have that cleared up. I can go back to DAY-dreaming about a Depron/FFF version of 36 - 40-inches for those super cheap BP-21 motors.
Jeeze, I wish youse-guys would leave my brain alone.

Ralph is right, Hayes tanks are THE best. I've had others split and those stoppers are a pain - I think - or maybe all that fuel in the radio compartment came from the Easter Bunny.

RE: Sorta Hot
I'm surprised anyone would recognize the arm with
all the makeup. Oh yes Cp a qualifier on the MVVS
rpm. I really need a regular muffler because this one
jumps on resonance at 15450. and runs out of fuel. It
really is happier with a 7X6 but then it has to go off so
rich that transition suffers. If I wasn't such a wimp I
would do away with the throttle and that would cure
the problem.
