Default Seagull Extra 300

I need some help. I bought a 43inch wing Extra 300 from Seagull. its electric and converting it to glow. I am beefing up the appropriate areas and a new firewall but i am lost on the engine. I though a OS.15 may work but some say a .25. Any pointers on this?

I was looking at one the other day...
You'd have to beef it up a bunch for a .25 I think...
The LA .15 would fly it, but IMO, not with the "gusto" you'd prefer.

You don't wanna go 'E" with it huh?

(P.S. C.H. do you know Len Alessi?)

If you want stellar performance out of a plane powered with a $60 .15, it can't weigh much more than 28 ozs RTF. That seems to be the cut off point for out of sight vertical, with an 8x4 or 8x3 prop turning 16-17,000 rpm.

Cool..I sent ya a PM...

I was wondering if a .15 could spin a big enough prop to get out past the cowl?

I would consider a 25 but that quite a bit of weight . They have this OS .15 CV-A that is suppose to be a hot 15 but I had a plan but now that plan is history. Any other hot .20's maybe?
