Default A Digital Camera even Rog could afford...

Sorry Rog, just couldn't resist! Your resistance to picking up a digital camera has become legendary. This thread might be a little premature because I don't have much info for you guys. A couple info points here for you.

1. 640x480 mode will get you 25 pictures.
2. Good pictures outside, decent inside.
3. If it weighs more than an ounce or two without the AAA battery, I'll kiss your grits.
4. It cost $4.50

Walking into Circuit City yesterday, I wandered past the junk bin. "Everything less than $8!" proclaimed the handmade sign. Well, never one to pass a junk table, I rummaged through the Nexxtech packages. I found this package that looked like it should hold fifty CD-Rs, but weighed next to nothing. Closer examination showed a camera that would fit inside a DNU fuselage with room to spare. I knew it was less than eight bucks, but nothing had a price tag. It took very little begging and pleading with my wife. (surprise, surprise, surprise) So I got a camera that ended up costing about a third of the "Audioslave" cd that I was there for.
The camera is at home, so I don't have any of the pictures I took to post. They are far, far superior to most camera phones pictures. Don't toss the Olympus yet though.

I saw little 640x480 cameras a wally-world that were about $15-20.
They would easily fit in a .10 size plane. Not much resolution, but fun
to try! Remember when ANY digital camera would set you back $300?

Nice try Rog![sm=49_49.gif] Shoot, I'm going to stop back by this afternoon and see if they added anything to the bin.

Vic, I've got a flyquiet tuned pipe that would solve that problem. You know I won't even consider an electric DNU. Actually, I've got the Mini Telemaster built up, so I could modify that and put an .074 on it.

Dave, wasn't that last year...? The problem with getting old is the memory turns months and years into the same period of time.

Here are some video clips I shot with an Aiptek Pencam in 2002. Almost anything you buy now will be much better quality.

A video that Gary Vilette shot with the same camera at our 2003 SMALL fly-in.

There's one on eBay with a starting bid of $5. I don't use mine anymore though, because it doesn't work with XP.
