Default Jedelsky wing, Wacky Willard design..

Some stuff I ran across inthe Aug 1980 issue of Model builder today:

1. Jedelsky and Thornburg wings, think Honker series of planes.
2. A wacky Ken Willard design from Larry Rengers column "Half-A Scene".
3. Nice Pottier P-70-S by Emmanuel Fillon that caught my eye (plans available from Bill Northrup most likely).
4. Nice shot of an Airtronics Warlock 05 (right...)
5. Humor!

The Pottier looks pretty sharp -- any chance of a Gene Rock rendition? Do you have any dimensions for this plane?

It spans about 36". It was designed for electric freeflight, pretty unusual for 1980.
Here is a color scheme to get you going:

Nice looking plane I think!
Gene is back hard at work (re)building working RPV helis, so his time
is limited now. So you are probably not going to see this worked up in CAD and
rendered to PDF. Mr. Northrup published MB and sell plans for all that was
ever printed therin.
I think this is his address, no web presence I can find.

There's an Airtronics Warlock in one of those pictures? I didn't notice it.

I would guess close to 36" with fairly streamlined fuselage.

A little surprising the Pottier was trike -- I would have thought it to be conventional.

I like the covering job, that's for sure!

I was just thinking how easily this thread could spin off into a "favorite cover shot" direction.

Does SIG still market the tapered balsa to build that wing?

Here's mine -- re-engined from a BW to a NORVEL. The NORVEL really put the HONK into HONKER.

Ken liked those wings... in 1962 he took & clipped the wing on his "Pageboy" to 8" and flew it with that heavy equipment to take the record as the worlds smalles R/C plane. Details & plans are in the PDF if anyone wants to build one. I think I placed this PDF here before, but I can't remember,.. If so, I guess You'll have to sue me... Bob

WhooOOOoops! guess I didn't won't support PDF... here's a link to another posting...

If you don't have, or want to spend the $$$ on a .010, Use Bipe Flyers TilePrint and blow it up a bit for an .020. Still a lotta Baby Bee's & Tee-Dee's around "fairly" reasonable...then,.. there's always "electric"
