Guys, you'll likely notice that a few posts back have been deleted. Those are the ones that pertain to trying to locate Flybug. For whatever reasons he may have he's decided to not make this right and send the original Grace onwards. But that's ancient history at this point and it's time to move on. I will not tolerate any sort of "witch hunt" to locate and harrass him on this forum. Please just chalk it up to one of life's dissapointments and center on either this new life for the New Grace or move on to some other pursuit.

Well, I think were at the point of moving on and getting a new grace BMatthews so I would'nt worry too much. And I guess you're the moderator, but I don't know that i see the forum rule that was broken in the post.
I actually think having some info about how easily this continent wide project can go off track or end due to just one person might make anyone who asks for the plane to think twice on whether they want the resposibility or not. Its a lot more work to fix and box a model up and ship it($), than open a exciting package at your door and going out to fly it. Maybe a nameless overview of the sequence of events (long possesions, ultimately lost) leading to the fate of Grace could be posted before the new plane gets a list going just to try to avoid a similar incident.
DELETED. ..But I'll shut up..Surely don't want to get Aeromodeling associated with things like respect, responsibility, etc. Back to the fun stuff!!! I've got a nice tight sure start oiled up for some testing this weekend. She's got a nice "POP" Todd

No problem Vic...Glad your in! Just let us know what you'd like to do or well let you know what we need, lol. I've got most of the big stuff gathered up as well as some parts coming from Tom soon, So were on schedule. If anyone has any ideas on color of trim scheme we'd love to know. Between a few folks around here we can prolly come up with some covering that could be what we need....I've got a few colors as do some friends. Two other things I'd like ideas on are: Battery type and size best for easy mantinence and lightweight. Were thinking a 350Mah NiMh at this point. Only other crazy idea I've had would be to substitute the surestart for a muffled black widow I have turning 6 inch prop and headshimmed AKA Texaco. Would definitely shorten flight times, But would save the space of a fuel tank and is maybe a bit better runner? Even if we go SS I think I may try to put a cox muffler on it if I can find another just so noone will have to worry about breaking club rules. Opinions?

I think as soon as we get our "Maiden Party" scheduled and the AC done we will start getting a list together and decide the best route to send her out. I'm trying to think up a system to help keep her going and on track. I'm sure a lot won't like this But I almost think something like people sending a $1 donation check to the "Postal plane charity" account or "Donation to AMA" should be required to get on the list...gives us a real name, addy, phone number, plus proves you are at least serious enough about getting Grace you can lick a stamp. I know I'm paranoid, But I like to call it cautious, LOL OR I'm thinking maybe we'll figure out the weight of the box with Grace and have the next recipient send the current flyer a pre-paid shipping label to his/her house And determining a reasonable posession time "I'm thinking 12 days from reciept?" If you can't get in a flight in that period ship her to the next guy and get back on the list and hope for better weather,etc.. Just ideas...Todd

I can toss in a roll of red or white Monokote... just let me know which and where to send it (PM me). Of course I'd like to be part of Grace II, too, as her and I go way back.

(Still have that unsettled feeling going on about the whole thing though.)

So, ummm, who's going to manage the roster and stay on top of keeping it moving?

Tom, no need to rush online and buy servos and a battery pack. I've got enough goodies here that I can supply two servos and a pack from my RC equipment scrap box no problem.

Livewire if you'd like the stuff send me a PM with your mailing address.

And just what are you doing for a Tx and Rx?

About Tx and Rx, G1 was set-up for the pilot to just instal the RX of his/her choice to avoid problems and keep it moving.
One of the problems with G1 was in fact the box. Mike's idea of making it out of Coroplast and duct tape was perfect and looked incredibly durable but the size created expensive ship rates. This time around it might be prudent to make the box a common cheap to ship size.
There are pics of the covering and box in the early part of this thread that I posted when she was finished up. Stickers are an easy thing to do but we also put stickers of our own on the plane and box to show where she had been, as well as a sharpie pen initial in the box.
