MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL YOU 1/2A GUYS!!!
With many people leaving out today to be with their families and such, I would just like to take the time to wish all of you 1/2A'ers a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS. This year I have made some new friends and flown with some old friends and enjoyed every minute of it. So keep safe so we can fly again in the coming year!!
Finally, remember with a smile, the great times with the friends who made their final flights way too soon this year.
May your Cox engines continue to crank and run easy and your Norvels finally run!!
Merry Christmas Guys!!

Merry Xmas to you all and heres hoping that the crew will grow and expand every year ,certainly you dont have to be in Carolina to be a member, just hanging out here is good enough, It does make it easier to get to the flyins though...may your stockings be filled with Norvels and VA's and CS's and Cox engines and all the balsa that will fit...and servos and covering and glue...wait thats alot for a stocking..ok all the afore mentioned under the tree[&:] and one engine of your choice in the stocking...hope to see a good turn out for the Barks swap meet too!!!.Rog

God rest ye merry gentlemen!
A toast to all of you for this Christmas:
May your props all stay balanced,
may your covering not sag,
and when you return from your next trip to the flying field,
may your planes not come home in a tall kitchen bag!
Merry Christmas to all, Robert

What if you get sued for an attack on Christmas...?
What if you get sued for an attack on Christmas...?
Whatever. CHRISTMAS IS A HOLIDAY THAT CELEBRATES THE BIRTH OF MY LORD AND SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST. IF YOU DON'T LIKE THAT THEN DON'T CELEBRATE IT. IN THE END EVERY KNEE WILL BEND AND EVERY MOUTH WILL CONFESS THAT JESUS IS LORD.

RE: MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL YOU 1/2A GUYS!!!
1/2A Merry Chrismas everyone!
Here's my annual Christmas peom. Some of you guys have seen it before, but for those who haven't...
'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the hangar
Not an engine was running, not even a four banger;
All the windsocks were hung by the workbench with care,
In the hopes that new model parts soon would be there;
The modellers were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of aircraft did loops in their heads;
And my wife dreaming quietly of new gardening things;
I laid there hoping for gifts that had wings.
When out on the lawn there arose such a noise,
Louder than the engines in my RC toys;
Away to the window I flew like a jet,
I couldn't run faster, not on a bet.
The house lights shining on the new fallen snow,
Made it look like a flyby, o'er the objects below;
When what to my wondering eyes should appear?
But a miniature aircraft. Had I drunk too much beer?
It dashed and it danced and it pranced like a star,
Better than my planes, yes better by far;
Over the porch. then over the wall;
The plane kept on climbing. It just wouldn't stall.
I was amazed how it swept and flew through the sky,
That was a plane that I wanted to fly;
Up to the rooftop the airplane it flew,
Someone is flying it, someone, but who?
And then with a buzzing I heard on the roof,
Who could it be? I need some proof.
As I turned away from the window ledge,
Down the chimney St. Nicholas came with an Edge.
My eyes, how they bugged out! The plane was so sporty,
I could hardly believe he brought an Edge 540.
On the tail of the plane there was tied a big bow,
With everything installed it was ready to go.
He spoke not a word and went straight to his work,
I stood there drooling, and felt like a jerk;
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose;
He sprang to his airplane, and to me gave a laugh,
"You can fly it tomorrow just don't crash the aircraft",
But I heard him exclaim, ere he flew out of sight,
"MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL, AND CHARGE IT BEFORE FLIGHT!"

RE: MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL YOU 1/2A GUYS!!!
And a Merry Christmas from this end of the 'net to all of you in this wonderful RC family.
I'm off to travel the Turkey Trail in a few hours in my leap frogging dance from family to friends trying to get in all the great visitations and dressed smartly in bib emblazoned with the Christmas turkey prominent on the front and my finely honed custom matching knife and fork in its traveling case.
Sadly the only airplane related items I'll be getting are those that I got for myself (who knows more than me if I've been naughty or nice ). But I've gathered a few items and projects and I'm hoping to live up to my New Year's resolution to build some models and get out for more flying.
Bipe, that's a great poem. I've printed off a copy and it'll be recited whereever I can to help spread the joy. Is that your work? You didn't have any author noted at the end.

Thanks Bruce,
Yes, it's mine. It, and another one, were published in Model Aviation Canada.
Here's the other one. Not exacly Christmas, but it's about the "building season".
Build Some More
Once upon a midnight dreary, building planes with eyesight bleary,
Over paint and dope and glue having fallen on the floor,
While I modelled, nearly covering, there came a presence near me hovering,
As if someone menacingly watching me from the door.
"'Tis my wife," I muttered as I headed to the door.
Tomorrow night I'll build some more.
Ah, distinctly I remember, it was in the bleak November,
And each and every club member came to fly their planes no more.
Eagerly I wished the morrow, but it too was met with sorrow,
I wished I could simply borrow, weather from the months before.
Yes the bright and radiant sun, which had brought such warmth before.
I guess I'll just build some more.
One morning sulken, sad, uncertain I hopefully drew back the curtain,
Thrilled me---filled me with fantastic hope never felt before;
So that now, I stopped my pining, the sun stood brightly shining,
I grabbed the plane I was designing, and headed out the front door,
The car engine started whining, even as I closed the door.
I'm glad I have to build no more.
Presently my joy grew stronger, the field was empty no longer,
People had come from miles around, their planes taken out of store,
I was so proud of my covering, some show off was out there hovering,
And soon there was a pleasant sound, sound that I had heard before.
I was beaming, glow engine screaming as it had done some months before.
'Tis my turn to fly some more.
While turning the plane and steering, long I stood there, wondering, fearing,
Dreading, wondering thoughts many modellers had thought before;
Had I put my plane on charge, I haven't flown this one since March,
And then it happened, I lost control, it never happened to me before,
I was too eager, my charge too meagre, never plugged it in the night before.
It hit the ground and was no more.
Back to the car I was turning, all my soul within me burning,
If only I had pondered what the day might have in store,
"Surely," I said, "surely, there is something left of my airplane."
I pick up the mangled airframe, got in the car and closed the door.
My heart hung low then lifted, I could go to the hobby store.
I'll just go home and build some more.

RE: MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL YOU 1/2A GUYS!!!
In the spirit of Christmas, lets all put aside our differences. Whether you follow the path of the Cox, the Norvel, A.P, Bodak or heaven forbid the Fora or even Cylon.
Whether you use JR, Futaba, or Hitec.
Whether you are known to use Foam, or are a balsa lover, spare a thought for your fellow modeller at this time, and let us send out this wish all others;
May your glow driver battery always be charged,
May the transmitter always be in the boot when you arrive at the field,
May the servo gears never strip, may that switch be turned on after ye let her go,
May the fuel bottle always have plenty.
When your plane is in trouble, let her climb, and be right way up, especially when near to terra firma,
And may all signals to your plane arrive and be responded to, be they from the transmitter, verbally or from well wishing bystanders.
So, A Merry Christmas to all.
Stefan

Merry Christmas! I hope everyone is enjoying some good food, fellowship, and some R&R.
This has been a great year in getting the opportunity to meet many of you here in NC. Still can't believe I came in 1st place with Rainedav at the September Reedie Race. Oh well, I still have a few more months to cherish this coveted trophy.
Here is a picture of the ring I gave my wife this year for Christmas... It was a special jewelry shop in the mall, Hobby something or other.
