Default NEED GLOWPLUG IGNITOR

I need a glowplug ignitor for my 1/2A scales. Pictured below is a Wasp engine I have installed and the ignitor I have.
As you can see in the pic there is a ringed gap around the glowplug and a normal size ignitor will not clip on and lock.

Any ideas?

I used to fly some planes with cowled engines, and only a small hole above the plug center contact was open. I used a pair of alligator clips, insulated, one to grab the plug center conductor, one to grab the protruding needle valve - it worked fine.

I bought a clothespin style plug clip a while back that had alligator clips on the other end of the wire for connecting to a battery from a control line supplier. I have a Deans 2-pin connector on the output of my plug driver, and after cutting the wires in two and putting on a couple of deans male plugs, I now have both a clothespin type, and a pair of alligator clips that will work with my plug driver..

I'm not a real big fan of those "hang the battery on the plug" glow plug drivers. Lately I've been using a radio south driver, but I just got a new 2V battery for my old trusty Globee "fireplug"

I have the same engine and glo starter. It won't lock onto a wasp .061 you either need to have another person to hold it on the plug while you start it, or you could get one of these:

Dave has a similar or maybe the same thing as it hooked up to his rechargable glow battery, and it seems to work great!

I found these http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXL338&P=7 and I was wondering if I could connect them to my charger and the engine as suggested by fizzwater2?

If yes, which color wire goes to the glowplug and which to the needle valve?

This is what you want. It clips onto your 1/2A glowhead and plugs into your Ni-Starter:

They work as good as anything else I've tried.

I put heavier wire on mine and a Deans connector. I use two Sanyo 1300mah SC cells in parallel and it lasts all day between charges.

Perhaps I will, but I am curious as to whether these would work

But as I asked which wire goes to plug and which to needlevalve?

doesn't make any difference which wire goes to which one, the glow plug doesn't care.

I guess that would work, but it's a lot more complicated than just using the clip that's designed to fit a 1/2A glowhead.

I use the same one David has, but I left the adapter on. I can then use the same ignitor and battery for other engines.

I thought that Radio Shack designed their small alligator clips just for us 1/2A guys.
