Ali, your thoughts about the "bite" are correct. The real one was a real peach to fly until the moment of departure, it gave very little warning. We had a "spin book" in the squadron with the departure, spin characteristics of each jet. It was part of every briefing we did where air to air combat maneuvering was planned. It's a beautiful jet. I have been gathering pictures of my old Air Force bird so when I order one it will look just like mine did 30 years ago.
