Yes you could. The Leo sprocket backwards works on regular style gear boxes. The only time you need the adapter I make for the LEO sprocket is when you are using it on a LEO. I just drilled a hole the size of the axel straight through the sprocket , pushed it on. Drilled and tapped the sprocket and added a set screw. Done.
