I hope that one of you can advise me and help with my problem.

I have an ASP 61 and when I start it with the ASP supplied plug it starts OK but when the battery is removed it almost stops and appears to hunt as if the mixture is very rich but it is not and leaning it out only stops the engine.

At full throttle it does not rev very high and again hunts as if it is rich, but again leaning out makes no difference.

I have tried a OS8 plug and it revs much better and appears to reach full revs (I am using a 11x8 prop) and the mixture jet can be adjusted over quite a good range.

Does this engine require a cold plug or can you tell me what plugs you use and find satisfactory.
