Default RE: Skymaster T33 First flights

FLIGHT TODAY......T-33take off roll was beautiful and it lifted off no dramas at all considering dry weight of 46lbs. Some minor trimming 1st flight, elevator and aileron but nothing major. The fact is that on approach one needs to keep speed up to the aircraft and land with flying speed almost if that makes sense. get this model too slow and it will hurt you unlike the Viperjet 2.6mtr which I had 86 flts on, that thing wouldnt slow down. Narrow undercarriage is in fact interesting and unless you get wheels down dead on well theinevitablehappens.. shouldnt have been a problem but did get hit with a bit of crosswind last minute (nonetheless no excuse)... overall first flight was a lot of work second flt far more enjoyable.. first landing was half flap no speed brakes, second landing was full flap with brakes what was amazing was that it need full throttle to fly with everything hanging out which is a bit different to the Viper which was pretty much a cut and glide... the fact that throttle is used so much makes it far safer and more planned ...!! Overall great looking model need another 4 - 6 flts before I get a handle on all its habits. Re CG Phil set slightly aft due to total weight but within limits set by SM, we are at around 200, range 190-200 but will let Phil clarify this for you... certainly not a model for abeginner, that is for sure.
