clockwise is to lean it, so you probably made it worse, back it out a turn or so, depending on how much you turned it in.

And,on the fuel line, be sure that when you replace it it moves freely from top to bottom of the tank and wont get stuck in the middle or something. I was showing off after replacing mine and the engine died at around 100' inverted, got lucky and saved it, but cant always be so lucky, found out it was too long and wouldnt go to the top of the tank.
