Default RE: Conversion to Gas?

ORIGINAL: KidEpoxy

(had 'smoke' the whole time, the laymans 'not too lean' indicator)
Ignore the smoke. It doesn't mean anything.

So
How do I know if I was firing the un-lit-glow off E85, or was dieseling after the lit-glow start?
How can I cool this down... more oil? Less prop? Run it only in the winter?

Note/warning:
Seems even the e85 diluted some,
the gasoline in the E85 did attack my fuel syringe black piston.
No, it wasn't dieseling. Ethanol needs a hot plug, try an OS F or Enya #3. If that fails you may need to increase compression ratio, I've not tried that yet. Chances are E85 will run hotter, it offers much less cooling through evaporation. I've not bothered to compare actual engine temperatures.

Yes, you have to use a gasoline compatible fuel system.

It sounds like you need to finish breaking that engine in.

E85 is mostly alcohol. You must use alcohol blending lubricants. Anything OK for methanol should be fine. Nothing in the main stream market for gasoline will blend with alcohol. There are a handful that blend in both. Kltoz Original Techniplate is one.
