RE: Venus II
I know this is my first post. Ive been around for several years. I just had to speak up. I discovered my Venus II early this summer and have only got a couple of gallons of fuel through it. I wanted a better alternative to the Killer Chaos I was flying and based on the unequivocal recommendations on this forum I decided to give one a try. Needless to say after putting a 120AX (again based on recommendations here) I am just giddy with delight every time I fly it. But always in the back of my mind I'm thinking "If you crash this you cannot replace it" I'm really disappointing that Tower discontinued this ARF. I have no idea why they discontinued it. I wish I knew. Perhaps the suppler in china quit making it. Perhaps it didnt sell up to snuff. Perhaps it was Named wrong from the beginning. Or perhaps they needed to make way on the shelves for the newest Extra, Yak or SU31. I belong to a club and attend another clubs fly-ins. Someone needs to tell Tower there's a whole bunch of people out there tired of Hovering and spinning planes. Someone needs to tell them there's a whole bunch of people out there that want to and enjoy flying a plane that looks and fly's like the real thing. Maybe in the real world of inventory, suppliers, and cost control that's not possible. But I just feel that our hobby is being pointed in a direction that the majority of people don't want. Ten years from now there will be no kits left. Perhaps only one or two brands of Glow motors and except for the very rich we will all be flying electric arfs. Is that what the future holds? I miss Carl Goldberg, I miss super kaos's and sweet and lows, And I already miss my Venus II
