I know the title says Wooden, but for learning 3d a foamy is a must.  Twisted Hobbys Vector is awesome!!!  I throw it around the backyard all the time.  The plane and the servos/motor package is about $150, 2c 480mah are about $15.  Repairs are easy with gorilla glue or glue gun.<div>
