The other thing is most electric's use lipo batteries an they can explode an cause a fire
use extreme care in charging these an I've heard of a dog puncturing a cell starting a fire.
They recommend a charging cannister or bag an if possible charge your lipo outside.
I've boughten most of my lipo's from hobbycity as they have have been the cheapest

yeah, but have you noticed, nitro fuel explodes too? There is always a little bit of danger, no matter if you choose nitro or electric. I'm just trying to decide which one is easiest to keep safe.</p>

If you go with the eflite you can save a bit of money if you buy your esc an batts an servos an rx from hobby city
I like to have 3 or 4 batts when I go fly

I only buy cheapo batteries, if you buy quality Rx, ESC, motor, and servos, then you get better performance out of your plane. And kerwin50, to me you are. I haven't delt with alot of nitro planes.</p>

With regards to danger; with nitro, gas or electric there is more danger driving to the field or LHS to pick up supplies than with the airplanes.

If you want the really want good stuff, stay away from E-flite and Hanger 9. Otherwise...enjoy and have fun!

I find that hard to believe. And, I know this has got nothing to do with the topic of this forum, but do any of you guys know what could cause 2.4 GHz radio interference?

What type of interference? Are the servo's chattertng?
or they just don't move?
Is it on all the channels?

The radio quits on me, like the Tx was turned off, and the signal is lost. My plane crashed because of this, and so did my friend's two planes. It was over the exact same spot in the air, too. Do you know what could have caused this?

Sounds like a low voltage batt problem what brand are you using
JR has had it's share of problems with that
If a servo stalls a puts alot of load on the batt Then the rx goes dead an has to reboot.
They have some updates . I'd send it in

I had a problem like this and lost a brand new plane. Turned out to be a elevator servo problem and it seemed to have "browned out" the system and with the older AR 7000 and 6100's it supposedly can take from 3-5 secs to reset. A lot can happen in 5 seconds. IMO I wouldn't think it would be an interference in the area but rather something in the system.

i doubt it's either of those, because i've had a good share of flights on it pushing it harder than i was then. I was using a fully charged and fully broken in ParkZone 1300 mAh 11.1V. I was also only two minutes into the flight, and my friend lost his plane in the same spot.

I know the title says Wooden, but for learning 3d a foamy is a must.  Twisted Hobbys Vector is awesome!!!  I throw it around the backyard all the time.  The plane and the servos/motor package is about $150, 2c 480mah are about $15.  Repairs are easy with gorilla glue or glue gun.<div>
</div><div>my 2 cents.  Good Luck </div>

I already own two foamies, I'm looking for more wind resistant, harder to repair non- profile planes. This is because if they're harder to repair, I don't want to crash, and if i don't want to crash, i hone my skills fast. It's just something weird about me.

I have a christen eagle with a 38" span an a nippy black 1812 (450) that I've flown in 10 mph winds.
Hobby king sells the pitts version for like a 120 just drop in your batt an rx. you can even it it an several extra batts for under 200.
I has quite a following over at rcgroups.
Lotta guys flying them
Now for flying in the wind I love to take my 40 size twist with an OS 61 on it.
it's a blast flying it backwards in a 25 mph wind
And now I'm thinking of a 30cc mx goldwing that runs on weedeater gas.
It'll fly in 25 mph to
Now they got the dle 20 that uses weedeater gas that you can put in 90 to 120 size planes
