Not sure this will answer your questions but: on my 1/4 scale Cub, it liked a CG set at about 30% of chord. Some will say that is to far forward but it worked for me. You will need about 5 degrees downthrust and 3 to 5 degrees right thrust for easy trim. If you decalage (difference between the wings angle of attack and the elevator angle of attack) is per plans, it should lift of fine with just a touch of up elevator after it gains flying speed on the ground. If you have trouble taking off, it may be because you have the main landing gear to far forward, if per plans it should be okay.
