RE: Pheonix Extra 330S 60-90 Size
NRAD2000:
I just wanted to add a few things concerning your setup.
I had the same problem setting up my transmitter for dual servos on elevator. I use Hitec radio. I had problems getting both servos to work together without a Y harness. The solution for me was to use ELEVON settings. This made both elevators work together.
Also, I recommend making certain that Horizontal Stab is installed at Zero incidence with the wings. Test fly the model before any incidence change. My model originally flew nose heavy. I moved the tank back 2-4 inches,(A note of caution though; doing this too much may effect engine running. For my GMS 76 it is just fine) Since you are using a pump, moving the fuel tank back closer to CG is best.
Adjust Ailerons to perfect center, (Neutral) then turn the clevice 1/2 turn down. Both of these things made the model glide like it is on a rail. I usually only have to give left or right inputs to stear the plane durring dead stick.( The 1/2 turn down compensates for flexing upward durring flight.) If the ailerons are slightly up, it will be difficult to land as the nose will pitch up when the engine is throttled back to idle.
Land gear is sorry, it will bend very easily. I strongly recommend two things.
1. Epoxy (30 min) the landing gear block very well before flying, else it will easily break and repair will be inevitable. Mine broke on the first landing. (Since I epoxied it back together it has not broken, even with some very hard hits).
2. I bought DU-Bro tough gear. I have a friend with a bandsaw and he cut it down to an 1 1/2 width from 2 in. It has proven to be very tough. I have had some hard landing since i epoxied the landing gear block and used the Du-Bro tough gear, both of these things have worked well.
I hope these things help. Happy flying.
Mike
