Hello, I understand your apprehention. Maiden flight! You have set the plane up correctly. Balenced it at 120mm, I have the fuel tank 2-3 inches back, engine has been tuned. Gear block has been epoxied, Ailerons are neutral, everything is really tight. If test flying (without cowl); it flys needing about -12-15 up trim. With cowl on it trims out at -6. The cowl appearently adds lift to the nose. I would perhaps test it slightly nose heavy to prevent any unexpected surprises. After successful test flights balance it closer to level. ( Balance completely together and upside down.) Once satisfied all is ok and engine tuned correctly the plane should fly very well. It tracks very straight, If it is not very heavy, and trimed right, it will land very nicely. I some have complained that the nose pitches up with throttle at idle; I found that the cause of this is having the ailerons slightly reflexed (UP). Because the ailerons span the full length of the wing to the fuselodge (it is the area next to the fuse that effect this) the up ailerons next to the fuse act like up elevator and pushed the triling edge of the wing downward at engine idle. That is why I suggest making extra sure the ailerons are neutral and 1/2 turn down on the clevis to prevent this. This also enhances the glide performance if the engine quits. Mine glides like a trainer. Also, with the engine at idle durring landing it will tend to float like a trainer after flare. If it is 8lbs or less and balanced right it will land very slow. (mine is 8lbs). Other than this, enjoy flying it.
