The typical scenario is that someone is looking for some hard to find, out of production item. The item is still listed on this site and Google, or what ever, picks it right up.

So the customer orders the out of stock plane or part and it is charged on his credit card. It has been that the card is sent though immediately. There is never going to be a part to ship. After a couple months it is too late for a charge back. Larry keeps the money, doesn't answer the phone and doesn't reply to any Emails.

Occasionally someone orders a common current item and Larry sends it right out - mark up one legitimate transaction - the customer is happy.
