Can I ask what your thinking about doing with yours? I built this plane once years ago, and haven't started my short kit yet (too many other projects now) but should after x-mas. But when I build my first flying machine it was the first time I had used the aluminum strap method, but it was easy, fast, and not hard at all, not to mention super rigid. I guess I am wondering what could be simpler and stronger? I planned on doing the same with mine when the time comes.
