Ever been to an airshow?
Ever paticipated in planning an air show? Well you have to submit a waiver, along with a plan. Our plan included closing of many buildings with no occupants in the buildings. So if their is a crash nearby then there are no people in the buildings. Traffic is rerouted etc. Then the pilots who fly in the airshow must have an Aerobatics Competancy test and form before they can be in tha airshow.
So the risk is much smaller than a low flyover over a stadium by your normal military pilots.
Naw, don't buy that one.. A flyover lasts for 10 seconds, 2-5 planes, over a populated area for 3-5minutes? An airshow lasts for hours, multiple planes performing (which in itself increases the odds of something happening), and flies over populated area untold times... You can't seriously tell me that a flyover is more risky than a whole airshow... I can list quite a few airshows that have had casualties, but I can't think of ANY flyovers that anything has happened...
