You know, it could just be a small missunderstanding. By that, I mean, maybe they thought it was 1000' from sea level instead of the actual altitude of the ground at the stadium I can see that happening.

Other than that, AWSOME!!! God Bless America!!!

Doesnt really matter anyways, I mean, Something going wrong at 1000' or 300'. Outcome would still be the same, just the location of the crash would be higher up the stadium seats

The Datonal 500 was buzzed by the Air Force Thunderbirds. I would bet they got a waiver for that. Did you notice the jets flew over the parts of the track where there are no stands?

Ever been to an airshow?
Ever paticipated in planning an air show? Well you have to submit a waiver, along with a plan. Our plan included closing of many buildings with no occupants in the buildings. So if their is a crash nearby then there are no people in the buildings. Traffic is reroutedetc. Then the pilots who fly in the airshow must have an Aerobatics Competancy test and form before they can be in tha airshow. So the risk is much smaller than alow flyover over a stadium by your normal military pilots.

I seem to remember a competition between all the top nations jet aerobatic teams a couple of years ago and the teams and others voted............ Guess what the red arrows won.

Your comment 'Real men' makes me smile. So you think flying a jet where you are trained by the tax payer and the plane is paid for by the tax payer makes you a real man........... So how does that work. It is the year 2010 you know do wise up

A couple of no hope Yank teams I think.............. Cant think of their names but one lot had blue planes and the other sort of white and red with stars on................. Not very notable and were beat by the Red Arrows

You seem to remember? Hmmmm. We could all seem to remember things. Doesn't make them true.
That is indeed a true statement. It was a documentary I watched last year on TV just cant remember its name. Most nations teams were there but I fully accept that not remembering its name etc does significantly water down my point to those who will not believe it happened................ It did though.................. of course it is up to you what you believe

Naw, don't buy that one.. A flyover lasts for 10 seconds, 2-5 planes, over a populated area for 3-5minutes? An airshow lasts for hours, multiple planes performing (which in itself increases the odds of something happening), and flies over populated area untold times... You can't seriously tell me that a flyover is more risky than a whole airshow... I can list quite a few airshows that have had casualties, but I can't think of ANY flyovers that anything has happened...
