the xlt won't work, because on my engine the pipe come straight back from the engine, it has the header built into the case, and with the xlt you need a header that curves up right?
I had a similar problem with my stock OS .61VF (it came with the header!). Mac's Mufflers came to the rescue and provided a header that joined the mounting flange at an angle without the straight run incorporated into your and my stock headers. I would inquire with Mac's Mufflers about such a header. I would also scour the auction sites for a suitable replacement. Remember, looks (appearance) doesn't matter if the metal is there to do the job. I've bought some horrible burned on castor looking headers that look nearly new now after a good antifreeze bath.
