Calypso...fantastic airplane
.
I encourage you to build the Calypso. I built my model pretty close to Hanno's world championship version with the exception of the aileron size and location. I powered mine with the Super Tigre S61, which is a very powerful engine that is simple to operate and runs stronger and stronger with each tank. The X61 is an excellent engine and will run the best after 2-3 gallons of fuel.
The flight capabilities are as good as any classic model I have flown assuming it is properly set-up. It would be possible to purchase an "S" or 1" rise header from Macs, cut off the flange and use a viton coupler to attach to the motor.
