Your story is not uncommon
Kit designers who sent stuff to China-a few years back- found that the arrangements they thought they made -were not so
They were plainly and simply cheated.
Fortunately not all the Chinese mfgs are not of this stripe.
If you are a student of history- you wil see that the Chinese, for years were on the receiving end of bad business
The English were particularly bad at ripping off the Chinese
Hopefully - someday we will all learn to work together
The difference is that the bad business they were on the end of came from themselves in the larger part

(Actually it still does to a large extent)
Ain't that a fact. The "Master Race" (They have pretty much taken over the worlds expenditure in just on 10 years) sure are good at "modifying business practices as we know them". One of my favorites was when a company there told me "Hah - you think we cheated you badly? other companies would cheat you more". [:@] (that was right after they charged me quite a lot of money for a service that never got provided, even though it was specifically itemised on their invoice).
Unfortunately, I have yet to experience a Chinese manufacturer of any goods that doesn't send a reasonably high proportion of unacceptable product out, then not cover it. I was involved with importing a lot of things other than just what is used in this hobby but in this hobby alone, I have dealt with a number of engine, airframe and accessory manufacturers. Every single one of them without exception will do their best to "try it on". Yes, some do so more than others. I am not allowed to mention the brand of engines I now refer to as "Voldemort" engines here or the mods will wipe the post - it only takes 4 letters - but they were probably the worst of the lot - send crappy product then refuse to even sell the parts to fix them.
