Default RE: POULAN Engines

ORIGINAL: Flathead

For some reason, my posts are not working::: Will try again. I am looking for information or experience on 33cc POULAN Weedies. They look somewhat like a RYOBI, but a bigger bore, shorter stroke, reed valve in rear, and about the same weight as a RYOBi, long shaft, Question? What can I expect for performance, what have you changed, (porting, larger carb etc) I have three POULAN saw engines, one like in the picture, then 2 newer saws. Appreciate any advice or help you can give me on the WEEDIES. Flarthead
I just ran across this post. I have done a Poulan 32. They are common in the Barracuda blowers. The one I have runs strong, 7400 with a 11mm carb, gutted stock muffler (just snap it apart) and a 18 x 8 Top Flight. The problem I have is it vibrates real bad. I balanced the prop and spinner (both were pretty bad) but it's still shaken. I have a feeling it's not all (if any) balance because at one test run it stooped vibrating completely. Then I had to re-fuel and the next run it vibrated again. If I could get it to stop vibrating I would put it on a plane tomorrow, instead, I put it on a shelf for now.
