Now that word worries me. Cheap and RC usually do not mix, unless you want headaches with poorly manufactured products.
Other than landings, airplanes are a lot easier to fly in general. Smaller airplanes are cheaper, but doesn't mean they are inferior. I have found that crashes with airplanes to be far cheaper than crashing a heli.
