Default Long or Short shaft Ryobi ?

The cheaper ones are usually always short shaft.

The reason for the long shaft is to make room for a centrifugal clutch.

The cheap ones have no clutch and the head is a direct drive.

Mine was a real old one and the clutch was down at the cutter head. (It had a clutch but was a short shaft version.)

Enjoy,

Jim
