They are using the north end of the closed north/south runway. Deland has two other runways.

In that link (skyvector)it has a warning about parachute and training,
but no mention of MA operating on the (closed) runway... not even a btw/fyi

Kid,
The link was provided for the airport diagram in the airport facilities rollover in the upper left corner. That diagram shows runway 18/36 as closed (Big X on runway). Although some airports report model activity there is not a requirement for it. The club has operated there for 21 years.
