The cub pictured in my post above is manufactured by GWS, a taiwanese company with many satisfied customers. It is available
here . The mini piper mentioned by zerobomber is made my graupner, a respected german manufacturer, and is available at
hobby-lobby . Both planes have their proponents and opponents. The GWS cub flys slower and in a more stable manner than the mini piper and thus should give you a fighting chance to keep up with it on the first few flights if you're learning on your own. The mini piper, due to it's higher flight speed, will track a little better in a breeze, but will probably be a litle harder to learn with if you're on your own. Bottom line is, neither is a bad choice, both will teach you a lot. And just to further add to your confusion, the Slow Stick, also offered by GWS, is yet another plane many have successfully learned on. It's about as simple as they come.
