I'm trying to get some idea of how many clubs are in the same position as one of mine. We have an agreement with the county airport management that allows our club to fly on a WWII-era training strip. It is an active, uncontrolled airport - just a paved runway in the middle of nowhere, occasionally used by cropdusters, student pilots, and drug runners. Our county has several of these, and we've been fortunate to have access to one or another for about 60 years. I am trying to establish that this is not a unique situation in the event that the FAA SUAS regulations make someone nervous....
If you know of a club with a similar arrangement, please post. I'd like to be able to point out that X clubs in Y states have these agreements - it's comforting to bureaucrats to know they are not alone in allowing something.
Feel free to PM me if you wish to avoid posting.
I have been flying from private runways with full scale for many years now. If some basic common sense and planning is used it can be done without problems.
