Don't use acetone, whatever you do! I figured that out the hard way...
Yea, Acetone will melt it, ... but, if you let it re-harden and use the polish method (either sanding with up to 2000 grit and then polishing or the plastic polish above), you can fix that too. You'd be surprised at what you can get out with polishing...
