Throttle delay is probably due to using a remote needle valve. Evolutions used to ship with fuel lines to the carb that had a very small inside diameter. It would seem that using a larger id line would put the engine on par with other 2 strokes if a throttle delay is noticeable. I would question the 'junk' statement because I notice the delay on most engines myself.
