Default RE: Evolution 60nx for 3d flight w/ Jett / Evolution performance muffler

I tried a 13x4 APC, the throttle resposne was not as quick and it made slightly less thrust than the APC 12x4.

No one ever said anything about the Macs muffler

I'm flying a poor man's 3d plane, I don't have the extra $150 for a Saito 82 but I agree that would be the best engine

Yes the airframe is a little porky, and to be honest it doesn't 3d that well anyhow... but otherwise it flies very well and smoother than any other profile I have flown. The airfame is also very durable.

Stock muffler with the baffle in was "scary" when trying to hover. It provided only a ounce or two more thrust than weight. The baffle outgave it a decent power boost.

And diss the aeroworks all you want... It will still do knife edge figure 8's with the left stick only. Its a pretty good flying airplane in general.

Ok, so I didn't feel like making a muffler with a beer can.... big deal.
That was just one of the tips you ignored.

Others include but not limited to:
1. 13x4 Xoar or APC - the right prop for 3D on a 55AX
2. Macs one-piece #6720 instead of the stock with baffle removed. Saves 2 oz.
3. A Saito 82 seems to work better for beginner 3D'ers
4. A lighter airframe
5. Careful tuning even with the stock muffler will still 3D just fine.

Ara, profiles aren't cheaper but they sure fly 3d better at this size.
