Giles versus others in 3D
The idea that a Giles is not good 3D plane is nonsense. I had a Godfrey 202 that was a very good 3D plane and a Carden G300 that was even better at 3D. Jason Shulman had a post on the SA list rating the different airframes in a generic manner. The Giles was the only one that was an A- or better in both precision and freestyle/3D. He rated the Extra better at precision but not for 3D. Now the designer of a particular plane you are looking at can help or hinder the 3D performance. I've not flown or even seen the Wild Hare Giles. So I can't comment on it's ability.
