Default RE: US JET WORLD MASTERS

Hello Everyone

Andy you have brought up some really good points about this years Jet World Masters. We all appreciate the support that we are receiving and we will continue to do the same. From day one, we have been focusing on a great event that can drawl a great crowd of people to the local area. Dayton has so much to offer and we have the support to showcase this unique opportunity. Our sponsors are the ones that will make this event/ competition very special to everyone that will attend. Raising funds to put on a show like this has not been a easy job, but we have not slowed down with our marketing and our goals for the event.

We have the right people helping to make this a fun 2 week event. The National Museum of the United States Air Force has a special event staff that is very organized and professional. They know how to handle large events with precise hospitality and the facility is unbelievable. You can not, and will not find a better place to host a event like this because of the aviation that is surrounded in the area. How many people knew the Wright Brothers are from Dayton, Ohio? First Airport in the world is in Dayton, Ohio.

Greene County Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Montgomery Convention and Visitors Bureau are both a huge supporter for the event. They are going to be on site everyday to answer any question about hotel's, restaurants, local museum's, parks, and any attraction that will be in the area. If you do have certain questions about the local Greene County area please feel free to email me [email protected] or email Lisa Willis at [email protected]... Montgomery CVB contact is Ron Eifert his email is [email protected]. Both of these CVB's are working together to make your stay enjoyable. Bring your families to the show because we will have many things for you to do during your down time. Just to name a few things for you and your family to enjoy. Shopping from the 3 large malls, ( Fairfield Commons, The Greene, Dayton Mall), Funny Bone Comedy Club, fine dinning,Dayton Art Museum, AMA head quarters, Dayton Dragons minor league Baseball game ( we are working on a Night with the Dragons), Bi plane rides, NMUSAF Museum, Huffman Prairie, Boonshoft Museum of Discovery ( kids museum), Kings Island amusement park, Youngs Dairy and so much more. They will have coupons and discounts for many cool attractions.

Steve

At this time we do not have any plans to keep any of the aircraft that are participating in the Open Jet fly in any storage. Pilots that are coming to the event to watch the JWM and to fly in the open jet flying portion must bring their own tents and things. Pilots or groups of pilots are able to rent tents for the event if they like. Just shoot me a email and we can get you a price. All open jet flying will be free. You can download registration for Open Jet Flying from our website. Email or contact Lewis Patton with your registration information so we can be prepared for your arrival. Anyone that would like to step up and rent a large pilot tent for the Open Jet Flying just feel free to contact Roger Shipley or myself with the information.

JWM pilots will have a secure climate controlled tent for the competition pilots. This is a required item for hosting the Jet World Masters. After doing some research and checking prices we found out that this one tent will cost the organizers 45,000 dollars for the 2 weeks. This tent will house all JWM pilots aircraft and it will be secure at night. If we don't have the predicted amount of pilots then we can get a smaller tent for the JWM pilot but that will still cost us a lot of money. This is why we express the importance to support the event and our sponsors because they have stepped up big time to make this happen. The museum can not solicit any money for this event, we are not able to charge for admission from any spectators, and no parking. Pretty much the entire event will be brought to you by the list of sponsors that are on our web site. Finding support for this event has been extremely hard with our current economy, but we are getting connected with good people that believe in our goal and mission.

I was notified that the Academy of Model Aeronautic educational department ( AMA) which is only 2 hours from the museum. Will be attending the JWM to work with all spectators that are curious about model aviation. They will have a trailer on site with a model airplane simulator for anyone to try. They will also have balsa airplanes to give to kids along with other activities for them to participate in. RC Hobby Center is a local hobby shop and they will help with assisting kids with some buddy box flying. This Competition/event is only a positive to anyone that is interested in knowing more about model and full scale aviation. I tried to get the EAA involved but they are extremely busy during this time of the year because of Oshkosh fly in.

We were also notified that the Springfield Air National Guard is planning on attending the show. If things work out like I am hoping they will have some very interesting things for all of us to see.

Thank you everyone and Thank you sponsors.
