If you want the cheapest route then the VQ mechanicals are available with matching oleo struts.

But if you want the most reliable and easiest to setup with the least maintenance then you can't go past the air retracts.

I have this plane with Spring Air retracts and they work without a problem. A real fit and forget installation.
And they just bolt straight in.
