10 lbs or so is a good time too! I agree you really need to keep an eye on not just the weight, but the wing area. I feel it's often an even larger predictor of a plane's performance capabilities. Regarding the 1000 sq. in. minimum for gas, I can't agree. Many are flying 30 powered planes successfully with under 900 inches. I don't care for how they fly with that kind of wing loading, but I'm not going to condemn them for doing that. You can get quite a bit lower than that even with a DLE20. That engine is rewriting a LOT of the recently established rules for gassers. It's lighter weight is letting it get down into those 800 inch planes with ease....
