If the clear plastic top layer pulls off leaving the colour/adhesive you can remove it with paint thinners or acetone. - John.
Although sometimes the color is imbedded into the wood and will not ever come off unless you cut out the wood[
]
Gotta love (old) Monokote, wish I had an unlimited stock of it.

lol Iknow what ya mean, there are red spots all over the mustang were the monokote bled threw the wood.....lol but its cool Im going to cover it with silver and yellow..
