OK, here we go again! Our Lehigh University team posted a few weeks ago about ideas for new RC products tailored to your needs. We used all the input you provided us in the survey, (see this thread for the discussion), and created a product concept for a flight data system. This would be a small electronic board, or group of boards, which would fit inside a plane and would be full of all kinds of sensors the user would want, such as GPS, accelerometers, compass, temp gauges, etc... You could view the data in real time as you piloted the plane or save it for viewing later on. The system would also serve as a way to locate a lost plane if it ever disappeared out of sight. Obviously, there are many more applications for such a product. Our team is also looking into having the option for people to custom order these flight data systems, with only the components and sensors that the individual user wanted included.
