Sounds like the rubber wheel is not lining up with the cars flywheel, or the opening in the frame for the flywheel is not long enough.
On one of my XTM's I had to open up the width of the opening in the frame so the starter wheel could
go up high enough to touch the flywheel without hitting the frame.
