Default RE: Carl Goldberg EAGLE 2

Hi DUCO,
The aluminum metal strips is to protect the Trailing edge of the wing from being crushed and messing up your covering film by installing and removing the rubber bands.
If I build another Eagle 2, it will be a bolt on wing.
For the bolt-on wing, you modify the #1 Ribs (2) by cutting a piece of the rear Ribs to accept the 1/4" Dowel. At the front of the #1 Ribs, you cut a Wedge shape piece from left over #1 Ribs drop-offs. Then you make two additional Ribs to guide and capture the 1/4" Dowel along with epoxy and glass cloth. These extra Ribs will be on the outside of the #1 Ribs.
If you decide to use the rubber bands, be sure to notch the rear Dowel so the Aileron Control Horns do not stall-out on the rear Dowel.
The Great Planes Groove Tube sounds like a good idea.
