Since this thread relates to the CPA (an organization dedicated to classic pattern airplanes and their flying) specificly...
Strange. I would expect there be some form of government to keep order and goals intact to avoid nonsense and kaos. Therefore, not everyone will get everything they want the way they want it.
When we talk about the CPA, SPA, etc., why wouldn't it be about classic pattern airplanes, but also competitive classic pattern flying? Isn't this self-explanitory? Would there be a purpose for an organization geard for this if all pilots want to do is throw a plane in the air for no other reason than to watch it roam aimlessly and have a great barbeque when your done? That is great fun for people trying to meet for personal specific reasons, but that is no pattern related event... Classic or AMA. Unless we are calling a barbeque a pattern event...?
If all you want to do is fly the airplanes, there is no problem. But when you want to compete, and you are a member of a competition driven organization, why kick against the goads when you have everything your asking for within the organization? Unless there is an alterior motive. If a person has a problem with that point, just read the threads related and it is clear.
The two statements below are clear enough. After reading that, what is the misunderstanding?
PatternPilot- See
www.classicpatternassociation.com for the mission statement-
The planes are from the pre-turn around days...
There are threads on the basic plane info elsewhere.
Remember guys this is in the infant stage and we have increased contest this year and are working on all the other details.
