"Like Paul said you can't change History and why would you. If all you want to do is fly Pattern with your latest design, then be my guest and I'll watch you do it.. I can't understand why so many people think that they must try and convince me and all the people that want to see these old Bird's fly again, that it's not about the airplane, when that's all its about !!!
Most people that talk about CPA/BPA/SPA don't fly in the contests anyway, and I'll bet most have never had the experence of flying a REAL Tipo, P-7,Compensator,Bootlegger,Tiger Tail,Cuare, Arrow,Atlas, the list goes on and on !!! All I can say is if ya havent tried one don't knock it until you do !!
Dave
Dave and Ed (NM2K) summed it up pretty good. I have flown the Tipo, the Tiger Tail, the Bootlegger, the Dirty Birdy, and hopefully the P-7 in a few days; I am now approaching the time in my life when I can do it again (and afford it a few times over). This part of it has got to go, sitting back and reading this will drive folks away, not encourage them to come out and give it a try. It's not for everyone, but it's for a lot of someone's. For me, I could care less if there were fifty CPAs, BPAs, or SPAs, I'd join the ones that I could be active in or had a passion for, but I would still support the others if I could and the missions were fairlyaligned. I've only met a few of the folks here in person, but I feel like I know you better than the typed message we see. It's time to take a breath, forget the nonsense, andstart thinking ofClassic, Senior, Ballistic, and even Vintage pattern flying as a mutually enjoyable RC venture with each having its own little flair of individuality. Yeah,I want tocompete andno I don't have too, but it doesn't mean Ishouldn't or can't enjoy watchingthose that do. Promotion is what's needed, not commotion.
