That is in all fairness an old thread you list, and while I'm not what you call a computer 'guru', setting up Windows XP on my iMac via the 'Parallels' emulator program was a piece of cake!
To start I just sent my iMac spec's to the help desk at Phoenix, they confirmed that it would support their program via Parallels, and I've been running it ever since. Best money I have ever spent on this hobby (I am a heli guy first, yet my plane has still seen the benefit of having a great quality sim)
